Get this! January 4, 2009 Hunter McMillian (Greensboro, NC) I'm 16 years old and at my age I'm attempting to get more into shape and becoming confident about my body. I'm about average as most teenagers I would say but I really wanted to see sense a growth in the muscle in my arms as well as getting general exercise. For the price and the absence of any hassle assembling the equipment, I would definitely recommend this product to anyone. It isn't easy, but true exercise shouldn't be. So, check it out!
It works... January 4, 2009 Bryan M. Vicquery (NY) My wife got this for me as a christmas gift. I let her assemble it and it took her 5 min. I was nervous at first thinking it was gunna fall off the door but it really is solid once your on it. I only use it for pull ups right now but since I done have any other bar to use this works well.
Great product January 4, 2009 Jeff (Ny, USA) This product really works well. It took me 5 minutes to set up and it installs in the door in less than 10 seconds. I am really happy i bought this and i recommend this to everyone .
Head of bolt broke after my third chin January 3, 2009 Jesse J. Dahl 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I completely separated the head off the bolt after my third chin. You know the square part of the bolt that connects to the head? Yeah, it broke clean off from the head there. I might return it and give it another shot though, hopefully it was just a defective bolt. It's supposed to carry 300 lbs and I only weigh 215 lbs FWIW.
Works exactly as advertised January 1, 2009 Dat Le 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I saw a commercial for the Iron Gym a few days ago. The Iron Gym is a pull up bar that wraps around your door frame and uses leverage, so there are no screws required. It looked like an interesting product so I Googled it. You know, just to make sure that it wasn't a trap or something. I learned that it was actually a pretty good product. Went out and picked one up at Academy for $30. Not expensive at all. It works exactly as advertised. The commercial says you can also use it for push ups, sit ups, dips, etc... but come on. There's really no reason to take this out of your doorway. It's there primarily for pull ups. Doing dips on this thing is worthless, just get a chair - you'll get a better range of motion. The Iron Gym is there to serve as a sturdy horizontal bar - something that's actually hard to find in a house. The rubber grips make it very comfortable and enjoyable to work out with. A lot of people are concerned about the safety. It's fine. It should be OK. Lol. It pushes horizontally against the door frame - it doesn't hang. It supports up to 300 pounds. It's really easy to assemble, took me like 5 minutes. Only 4 screws. The Iron Gym is very fun; I'm very satisfied with my purchase. Glad I bought it. That's why I'm recommending it. Not gonna go too much into it, you can read the reviews online for yourself. PS: I found a bunch at Academy, but apparently, they're sold everywhere. I think you can find them at Walgreens, CVS, Bed Bath & Beyond, Linens N Things, Walmart, Target, Sports Authority, Dick's Sporting Goods, GNC, etc...
